Westmeath County Council is hosting a full week of free biodiversity events from 16th to 25th May 2025. The programme includes guided bat walks, bog and pollinator trails, creative workshops, and family-friendly nature sessions across the county.
Highlights this year include a Wildlife Photography Exhibition by John McCauley at Mullingar Library (16th–26th May), a guided bird and butterfly walk at Cloncrow Bog, and community biodiversity workshops in Athlone, Mullingar, and surrounding areas. These sessions focus on practical actions to support pollinators, protect native habitats, and raise public awareness.
The week is designed to connect people with nature, share knowledge about local wildlife, and promote biodiversity action in homes and communities.
All events are free, but booking is essential.
