Westmeath Libraries wishes to enhance the quality of life for all the people of Westmeath by promoting inclusive services. To combat the social exclusion that Deaf people can face we wish to raise awareness amongst library staff, and all our users. To this end Mullingar Library hosted a number of signed storytimes with an ISL interpreter, and library staff attended a training session. As part of this programme Westmeath Libraries also created a video introduction to Irish Sign Language. We hope you enjoy.
More videos will be made available in the future, so please stay tuned.
These events and videos were funded by Westmeath County Council and the Dormant Accounts Fund 2022.
