Africa Day is an annual celebration of the people and cultures of this wonderful continent. This year it was celebrated on 25th May, and to mark the occasion Moate Library are hosting an exhibition by Lesley Wingfield "Faces of Africa", depicting some of the rich and diverse African cultures living in our community.
Lesley Wingfield is an artist based in Athlone. She was born in London but has been a resident in Ireland for many years. She is a founding member of Shambles Art Studios, Athlone where she continues to practice.
