The Battle of Wits is a Table Quiz for Transition Year students in Westmeath, Longford, Offaly, and Laois. Please contact dearbhla.sheridan@westmeathcoco.ie for more details, or if you are a TY teacher in a Westmeath school and would like to participate. Teachers from other counties should contact their local library for more information.
The Battle of Wits consists of three rounds:
School Battle: An initial table quiz to be held within the school. The winning team will go forward to the next stage.
County Battle: The winning team from each school will proceed to the County Battle in Aras an Chontae, Mullingar on 17th October 2024.
Regional Battle: Two teams from each county will then go forward to the Regional Final in Aidan Heavey Library, Civic Centre, Athlone on 5th Dec 2024. A perpetual trophy will be awarded to the winning school & prizes given for 1st, 2nd & 3rd Place.
