April 2025 in Westmeath Libraries

April in Westmeath Libraries means Spring Into Storytime! We want to help children discover a love of reading and books. All this month our libraries will be welcoming children and families in for stories and more.

This month we also have gardening workshops, visible mending, book clubs, exhibitions, and more. So read on for all our events.

April 14th, 15th & 16th at Mullingar and Athlone Libraries

Draw your own picture or colour in a picture here in the library. 

Design a monster sticker
We are looking for young creative minds to take part in our Design a Monster Sticker competition as part of the Summer Stars 2025. For ages 5-12 years old.

To enter call in to your local library and pick up an entry form.


Visible mending is the art of repairing clothing in a way that highlights rather than hides the repair.  Come along to this workshop run by Roscommon Women's Network to learn how to creatively bring old clothes back into use.

Learn how to create a thriving, low-maintenance garden without turning the soil! Discover how this sustainable method improves soil health, reduces weeds, and boosts productivity—all while saving you time and energy. She'll also touch on some of the basics in growing from seed and you probably won't go home empty handed.
