Summers Stars Launch at Westmeath Libraries

The official launch of Summer Stars took place at Westmeath Libraries this week. What better way to kick it off than to have Irish author and illustrator Oisín McGann visit our library branches!

Children from St Colman's NS Bellview, St. Mary’s NS Athlone, St Féichín's NS Fore and St. Brigid’s NS Moate were in for a treat as Oisín shared his story about how he got into writing and drawing as a child. He then drew an illustration based on suggestions from the audience!

A huge thank you to Irish writer and illustrator Oisín McGann, and the students from the local primary schools for coming along. Stay tuned for lots of fun #SummerStars activities happening at Westmeath Libraries over the summer months.

If your child hasn't joined the Summer Stars reading challenge yet, don't worry there is still time. Drop in to your local library branch with your child and they can join the challenge for free. They can even be in with a weekly chance to win a book token by entering the draw when they check out their books!
