How can I apply for a Westmeath Creative Ireland grant in 2024?

You can apply for a Creative Ireland grant by filling out our Westmeath Creative Community 2024 Grant Application Form by 5pm on Wednesday 14 February 2024. Please note that late applications will not be accepted.

How will I know my application has been received?

Eligible submissions will receive email confirmation. If you do not receive email confirmation it is your responsibility to email or phone us to ensure that your submission has been successfully received.

How much can I apply for?

Grants from €500 to €5,000 are available for 2024.

What kind of projects can I apply for?

Applicants are encouraged to apply for grants for projects that encourage people, groups to explore their own creativity. Along with projects that explore the arts, culture and heritage on a community level in creative and innovative ways.

We are open to project proposals that involve groups that have had little or no previous involvement in creativity and culture projects whether for any reason such as economic, geographic, or having lacked awareness or opportunity. In such instances we will endeavour to give whatever advice and assistance we can to ensure your project can achieve the best possible experience for everyone involved. 

How can individuals apply for Westmeath Creative Ireland grants?

Individuals can apply for Westmeath Creative Ireland grants provided they have secured the support of other creative practitioners, collaborators, cultural or creative venues etc.

What criteria will my application be judged by?

  • Quality, innovation and creativity of the planned project. (20%)
  • Track record: Ability and expertise of the group or individual to undertake and manage projects. (20%)
  • The feasibility and viability of project within the timeframe. (20%)
  • Accuracy and presentation of budget. (20%)
  • Sustainability, growth potential of project beyond 2024. (20%)

All applications in 2024 will be judged by an external panel.

What activities do Creative Ireland grants generally not cover?

Westmeath Creative Ireland Grants are tailored to community and collaborative projects. Projects that are not eligible include but are not limited to;

  • Book publishing or editing
  • Website development
  • Individual mentoring
  • Individual artist development initiatives
  • Financial support for individual artists

On what grounds can my application for a Westmeath Creative Ireland grant be considered ineligible?

Your application will be considered ineligible, and returned to you, if:

  • You do not fulfil the eligibility requirements;
  • Your application or supporting documentation was late;
  • You did not fully complete the application form;
  • You did not include with your application all the required supporting material;
  • The proposed activity does not fit the purpose of the specific award for which you are applying;
  • The proposed activity has already taken place or will be completed before a decision is due to be made on your application;
