In May we are hosting events to celebrate Bealtaine, as well as book clubs, exhibitions, story times and more.

Bealtaine is one of Ireland’s largest co-operative festival and the world’s first national celebration of creativity in older age. This Festival brings together people from all over Ireland to foster and inspire creativity among older people and to promote the skills, experiences and exposure that can lead to a rich creative life for all older people.

• Memories and Melodies with Jean Farrell
  Columnist Jean Farrell looks back at the many changes which have taken place in Ireland, since she was a young child, in the 1950s. In Memories and Melodies Jean reads some of her most popular articles. Her sister sings songs related to Jean’s memories. All welcome.

Poet Amy Barry will be hosting a poetry reading at Athlone Library featuring Luke Morgan, Bernadette O Reilly, Damien Donnelly & Gerry Boland.  This event is part of the RTÉ All Ireland Drama Festival Fringe events. No need to book, all are welcome.
