Originally from Penang, Malaysia, Amy Abdullah Barry is a well-known resident of Athlone and a distinctive new voice on the Irish poetry scene.
Her debut collection of poems, Flirting with Tigers, has just been published by Dedalus Press, one of Ireland’s leading poetry publishers.
To mark the publication, and to celebrate Poetry Day Ireland, Westmeath Arts Office, the Aidan Heavey Library and Dedalus Press present a public reading on Thursday 27 April at 6.30 pm, to which admission is free and all are welcome. Celebrate Poetry Day Ireland with a voice that is at once local and international. Now more than ever, Poetry Matters: Spread the Word.
