Sensory Play in Westmeath Libraries

Sensory play is a great way of engaging all of your senses in a fun way. Here in Westmeath Libraries we are delighted to have sensory rooms in Athlone and Mullingar Libraries, a sensory feature in Moate Library and a mobile sensory trolley in Castlepollard Library. All of our libraries also have sensory toys for you to use.

These sensory resources are available for use by children and adults of all ages and abilities.

In the video below, registered play therapist Eleanor Glennon will show you how to make the most out of our sensory space. She guides you through the best ways to engage with your child through sensory play. If you would like more information on our sensory spaces and toys please contact your local library and staff will be happy to help. This video was funded by DRCD through the Dormant Accounts Fund and Westmeath County Council.
