On the 18th May Mullingar Library welcomed Mullingar Climate Action Network to the library for a "special event "Green Gather" event. "Sustainability through repair" was the main theme of the day, with speakers on biodiversity, food waste, upholstery and you repair among others.
Many thanks to those that came along, and especially to Mullingar Climate Action Network for sharing their skills and knowledge with the community. This is the first in a series of ‘Green Gather’ events taking place with MCAN so stay tuned to their instagram for more details.
Westmeath Libraries are engaged in raising awareness of Climate Change and the development of responses needed by society. We will aim to be more environmentally aware, and we encourage a culture of re-use, for example did you know that you can borrow games and toys from the library? Or that Moate and Athlone are piloting a children's costume library?
